You can either book online through the website, or print off the form, fill it in, and send it off (along with suitable payment).
Go to the hotel
We don’t send you tickets, so all you have to do is get to the Falls Hotel by the 6th of November 2009. Directions can be found on the hotel page.
Check in
Check into the hotel first. There are likely to be queues, especially as this hotel has not hosted a fan convention before, so please be patient. Once checked in, you can …
Drop off your luggage
Preferably in your room, but if you can get away with leaving them in someone else’s room, that too is fine. They’re your bags, after all.
Registration
There will be a well-signposted desk for convention attendees to register at. If you don’t register, you don’t get your Con badge, if you don’t a badge, you don’t get into events, you don’t get to benefit from discounts we’ve arranged with the hotel, and you don’t get a goodie bag!
Read things and learn
Particularly the stuff in the goodie bag. The programme will be in there, telling you what’s on, the Convention’s policies, where everything is, and so on.
Ops
The Operations Centre. This is where the Convention is run from, and where you should go if you are in any doubt about what you should do, where you should be, and for any help about anything Convention- or hotel-related that you might need. If the answer’s not at Ops, it will be shortly.
Committee Members (the ConCom)
Will probably be festooned with walkie-talkies, innumerable badges, wearing purple shirts, and moving rapidly to somewhere else. Theoretically, they know everything about the Con, but it is unwise to put this to the test. May be safely interrupted if you bear an offering of alcohol.
The Watch
Convention Security. They keep corridors clear, riff-raff out, and doors closed until the next event is ready to start. Following their instructions allows everyone to have a pleasant and safe Convention.
Gophers
Volunteers who make things happen. No Convention can run without Gophers, and in order to reflect this, Gophers get extra rewards during the course of the Con. Ask at Registration or Ops, or tick the box on your membership application.
Enjoy the Convention
Go to events, go to the bar, go to bed (briefly), have fun, buy things from the Dealers’ Room, and come back in two years.
