It is with great sadness and regret that we have to announce that Mr Stephen Briggs has had to cancel his attendance at The First Irish Discworld Convention (2009). Due to a change of job, Stephen has had to curtail his travels to Discworld events – something that saddens him as well as us – and therefore will not be attending our inaugural event this November.
However, we are stll in contact with him and are hoping to hold an interview with the playwright via Skype – the free internet phone service (connecting you and you long-distance boyfriend!)
So, do not despair! Briggsy will make his appearance (all hail the great god internet!) and we will have our interview!

The Oswalds are coming to Ennistymon!
The posh dinner taking place on the Sunday night of IDWCon will be given an awards ceremony theme, as the evening will be given over to the Oswalds (the DW equivalent of the Oscars).
So get your best tuxedo out, find a swanky dress to beg, borrow or steal, and come along! The evening will feature the awards for the Maskerade*, some event-specific awards (always good for a laugh), and possibly an after-dinner speech or two.
Tickets for this event will be priced at approximately €35. Menu is still to be finalised.
